Terms of use

This site is a waitlist. These terms explain what that means today and what we plan for later.

Draft

This is a plain-English draft. It has not been through legal review and it will change before the platform opens.

In plain words

  • This site is a waitlist. Today no one can pay, get paid or bid here. Section 1
  • Joining is free and is not a contract. It does not reserve a slot, a price or a place, and you can leave at any time. Section 2
  • Launch dates, prices, events (including races) and results are plans. We give no guarantee about any of them. Section 3
  • You keep ownership of logos and photos you send us, and we will ask before anything you send appears publicly. Section 5
  • Section 9 describes how sponsorship is planned to work. Nothing in it is an offer, a promise or a contract until you have seen and accepted final terms. Section 9

The sections below give the full wording.

1. What this site is

Stick On Me is a waitlist and information site. It describes a sponsorship platform we are building, where people offer sponsor slots on their body, laptop or shirt for an event they are going to, and brands bid on those slots.

In these terms we call the person who offers a sponsor slot on their body, laptop or shirt the Athlete, and the brand that sponsors the slot the Brand. The Athlete does not have to compete in a sport. The word means that person, whatever the event.

That platform is not open. Today no one can pay, get paid or bid on anything on this site. There are no accounts, no payments, no checkout and no live pages for any Athlete. Any examples, prices and demo models you see here illustrate the idea, and you should treat them as illustrations unless a page says otherwise.

2. Joining the waitlist

When you join the waitlist you give us your email address and a few optional details so we can tell you what happens next. Joining is free.

Joining the waitlist is not a contract. It does not reserve a slot, an auction place or a price for you, and it does not oblige you or us to do anything further.

The number you see after you join is the order in which people signed up. It does not promise access, a price or a place at any race or other event.

You can leave at any time with the unsubscribe link in our emails or by writing to [email protected]. What we do with your details is explained in the privacy policy.

3. No guarantees

We talk about plans on this site, such as a first run with HYROX athletes in October and laptops and shirts after that. These are plans. We give no guarantee about any of the following.

  • Launch dates. Dates can move, and a launch can be delayed or cancelled.
  • Prices. Figures such as slots opening around $200 describe our current intention and can change.
  • Races and other events. We may add, change or drop races and other events, and we do not promise that any particular Athlete, Brand, race or other event will take part.
  • Exposure. An exposure number and photo-verified placement are features we are building. We do not promise any audience, views, clicks, sales or other result from a sponsor slot.

4. Acceptable use

Use the site lawfully and fairly. In particular, please do not do any of the following.

  • Give an email address that is not yours or that you have no permission to use.
  • Send false information, or pretend to be another person, athlete or brand.
  • Use scripts or bots to fill in our forms, or send so many requests that the site slows down for others.
  • Probe, scan or try to break into the site, the waitlist database or our email systems.
  • Send us material that is unlawful or that you have no right to share.

We can block access and remove waitlist entries that break these rules.

5. Intellectual property and images you send us

The Stick On Me name, logo, design, text and 3D models on this site belong to us or to people who license them to us. You may view the site and share links to it. Please ask us before you copy or reuse any of it for commercial purposes.

Names of races, events and brands belong to their owners. Mentioning them here does not mean the owner is involved with Stick On Me or endorses it.

If you send us a logo, photo or other image, you keep ownership of it. By sending it you confirm that you have the right to send it, and you allow us to use it to review your request, prepare mock-ups and reply to you.

We will ask before anything you send appears publicly. Wider licence terms for images on Athletes' pages will be set out in the final terms described in section 9.

6. Disclaimers and limits of liability

The site is provided as it is and as it is available. We work to keep the information accurate, but it may be out of date or wrong, and the site may go offline without notice.

To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, or losses that come from relying on information on this site. Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that the law does not allow us to limit, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Because no one can pay for anything here today and joining is free, we expect these limits to matter very little at this stage. Fuller terms on liability will come with the final terms before anyone pays.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the project develops. When we do, we change the date at the top of this page. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms. Before anyone can pay for anything, we will publish final terms and ask people to accept them.

8. Contact

Write to [email protected] with any question about these terms.

9. How sponsorship is planned to work when the platform opens

This section describes plans. It does not apply to anyone today, because no one can pay or bid yet. These rules will be confirmed in final terms before anyone pays.

When the platform opens, we intend to use these rules.

  • Two ways to offer a slot. An Athlete can offer a slot as a doubling auction, where every takeover doubles the price, or at a fixed price.
  • Outbid Brands are refunded in full. When another Brand takes over a slot, the Brand that was outbid gets its money back in full.
  • The Athlete can veto any logo. No reason is needed and there is no penalty.
  • Our fee is 12%. We take 12% of money actually received.
  • A one-time model fee. We plan to charge the Athlete a one-time fee, proposed at $9.99 for each page, when we build the 3D model from their photos, and the amount and any refund rules are planned and not final.
  • We handle printing and shipping. We print the tattoos and stickers and ship them before the event.
  • Proof after the event. A proof photo of the sticker on the Athlete is provided after the event.
  • Some categories are refused. Restricted categories are listed on the sponsor rules page.

Other details are still open, including which payment provider we will use, taxes, and how disputes are handled. They will appear in the final terms. Until you have seen those final terms and accepted them, nothing in this section is an offer, a promise or a contract.
