Read this page before a slot goes live, whether you are an Athlete offering one or a Brand bidding on one. No slot is live today and bidding is not open. These are the rules we intend to apply when it is.
On this page the Athlete is the person who carries a sponsor slot, and the Brand is the brand that sponsors it. The Athlete does not have to compete in a sport. The word means that person, whatever the event.
1. Who decides
The Athlete decides. An Athlete can veto any logo. No reason is needed and there is no penalty for doing so.
We also review every logo before it shows on an Athlete's page. We refuse logos that fall in the categories below, whatever the Athlete thinks of them. The final terms will set out how a veto that follows a bid is handled.
2. Categories we will refuse
We will not accept logos or messages from any of these categories.
- Gambling
- Crypto tokens
- Adult content
- Tobacco and vapes
- Weapons
- Unregulated pharmaceuticals and peptides
- Political campaigns
We also refuse anything that is illegal in the Athlete's country. If you are unsure whether a logo qualifies, ask us at [email protected] before you bid.
3. Event rules, and HYROX sizes
Events set their own rules for sponsor marks on the people who take part. HYROX is the only event we design sizes to today, and the sizes below are what we design to there.
| Placement | Largest at HYROX | For scale |
|---|---|---|
| Each upper arm | 20 cm² | About the area of a 4.5 cm square |
| Chest | 32 cm² | About the area of a 5.7 cm square |
| Leg | 32 cm² | About the area of a 5.7 cm square |
At HYROX, sponsor tattoos are checked before you walk in. Logos from third parties on clothing are not allowed.
Other events differ, so the Athlete checks that event's rules and follows its current rules. This applies to every kind of event, not only races. Many conferences, trade shows and conventions limit promotion by anyone who is not an exhibitor or sponsor, and festivals and venues often have sponsor deals of their own. We plan to show a rules profile for each race on Athletes' pages.
4. Skin safety
- We use temporary tattoos only. We do not offer permanent tattoos and we will not list a slot that needs one.
- Inks are cosmetic grade, and we print with established printers.
- An Athlete can remove a tattoo at any time.
- Before event day, patch-test one on a small area of skin. Do not apply it if your skin reacts, and do not put one on broken or irritated skin. If you have allergies or very sensitive skin, ask a doctor first.
5. Disclosure
A paid placement on a person is an endorsement with a material connection between the Athlete and the Brand. Every Athlete's page on Stick On Me will carry a Paid sponsorships label so that visitors can see this.
Athletes should also tag their own posts about a sponsor as paid partnerships, using the tool their platform provides for that.
6. Proof
We plan for each slot to come with proof. After the sticker is applied, the Athlete provides a photo showing it on their body.
7. Refunds
A Brand that is outbid is refunded in full. In a doubling auction every takeover doubles the price, and the Brand that was outbid gets all of its money back. Any other refund cases will be set out in the final terms.
